Jan Brown writes this blog. Jan is a fairly new resident of Montgomery County. She moved to The Bonifant in Downtown Silver Spring. Having made that move, she discovered that she loved The Bonifant, Silver Spring, and Montgomery County. She began to wonder why it took so long for her to make the move.

There were so many things that attracted her, such as: multicultural diversity; sense of respect for one another; so many places to go and so many things to do that cost absolutely nothing; wonderful restaurants serving all kinds of food; good shopping; and a Civic Center that brings such culture and entertainment to the neighborhood in the center of it all.

Let’s go with Jan as she discovers and shows off places that are so interesting that she wants you to discover and show off to your family and friends also.

The Silver Spring Regional Center connects Montgomery County and community members, businesses, institutions, non-profits, visitors, and all interests in Silver Spring. Our mission is to:

* Strengthen communication between the community and various agencies of County Government

* Coordinate necessary inter-agency action with respect to each local area and recommend programs and policies tailored to the local community.

The Silver Spring Regional Area encompasses the area south of the beltway (plus Four Corners), east to the Prince George County line, south to the Washington DC line and west to Rock Creek Park.
